Battery Storage & EV
Commercial Battery Storage & EV Infrastructure Scotland
Energy resilience is the new competitive advantage. Greentech Scotland delivers integrated commercial battery storage and workplace EV charging solutions that turn your site into a smart energy hub. From capturing excess solar generation to enabling rapid fleet electrification, we design scalable infrastructure that lowers your OpEx and secures your business against grid volatility.

How Battery Storage Increases ROI
A solar array generates energy when the sun shines, not necessarily when you need it. By adding industrial-grade storage, you decouple generation from consumption, unlocking three powerful revenue streams.
1
Charge Off-Peak
Fill your batteries overnight when grid electricity is cheapest (e.g., 12am - 4am) or charge them for free using your own excess solar generation during the day.
2
Store & Manage
Your intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) holds this low-cost energy, predicting your site's demand peaks using AI-driven algorithms.
3
Discharge & Save
The system automatically discharges during expensive "Red Band" tariff windows (typically 4pm - 7pm), meaning you run your operations on cheap stored power while avoiding peak grid charges.
Engineered for Resilience
We don't sell "plug-and-play" boxes. We engineer bespoke storage solutions tailored to your specific load profile and business goals.
1

Solar Self-Consumption
Don't export your green energy for pennies. Store your surplus solar generation during the day and use it to power your night shift or security systems, maximising the value of every kWh you generate.
2

Peak Shaving
Industrial sites are often penalized for high power spikes. Our batteries release power instantly when your machinery starts up, "shaving" the peak off your demand curve and lowering your Authorised Supply Capacity (ASC) charges.
3

Emergency Power Supply (EPS)
Grid failures cost money. We can configure your storage system to act as a commercial UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). In the event of a blackout, the battery isolates from the grid and keeps your critical servers, lighting, and security systems online.
4

Grid Services & DSR
Turn your battery into an asset. By participating in Demand Side Response (DSR) schemes, you can get paid by the National Grid to discharge energy during times of national stress, creating a new revenue line for your business.
Workplace EV Charging Infrastructure
The transition to electric fleets is accelerating. Greentech Scotland designs and installs scalable commercial EV charging networks for offices, depots, and logistics hubs. We ensure your infrastructure is ready for the 2030 ban on new petrol/diesel vehicles.

Smart Load Balancing
The biggest fear for Facilities Managers is that plugging in 10 vans will blow the main building fuse. We solve this with Dynamic Load Balancing. Our smart chargers communicate with your building's main meter, automatically throttling the charging speed if building demand gets too high. This allows you to install more chargers without paying for an expensive grid supply upgrade.
Fleet & Staff Solutions

7kW - 22kW
Fast Chargers
Ideal for staff car parks where vehicles dwell for 4+ hours.

50kW - 150kW
DC Rapid Chargers
Designed for logistics fleets needing a quick turnaround between delivery runs.

Back-Office Management
Track usage, bill employees for personal charging, and generate carbon reports for your ESG audit.
Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)
Check WCS EligibilityThe government is funding your transition. Eligible businesses can currently claim up to £350 per socket (up to a maximum of 40 sockets) towards the purchase and installation of EV charge points via the OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme. GreenTech is an OZEV-approved installer and manages the grant paperwork for you.
Industrial-Grade Technology
Commercial environments demand robust hardware. We partner with leading manufacturers to deliver systems that are safe, scalable, and open-protocol.

Battery Technology
We specify modular cabinets starting from 50kWh up to 2MWh containerized solutions. We utilize Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry, which is the safest commercial battery technology available, offering a longer lifespan and significantly lower fire risk than traditional NMC batteries.
Warranty
10-Year Performance Warranty
Safety
Integrated fire suppression systems as standard

Charging Hardware
We install OCPP-compliant chargers (Open Charge Point Protocol). This means you are not locked into one software provider. You can switch your back-office management platform at any time without replacing the physical charge points.
Battery & EV Frequently Asked Questions
Can I charge the public to use my EV chargers?
Yes. We can configure your chargers with RFID or QR code payment systems. You can set different tariffs: a low rate for staff (cost price) and a higher rate for visitors or the public, turning your car park into a revenue generator.
What is the payback period for a 100kWh battery?
The ROI depends on the "spread" between your day and night electricity rates. For businesses on variable tariffs utilizing energy arbitrage, we typically see payback periods of 5 to 7 years. When combined with a solar PV system (allowing you to store free energy), this can drop to under 5 years.
Is commercial battery storage safe?
Yes. We only install Tier-1 systems that meet strict safety standards. We prioritize LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries because they are chemically stable and extremely difficult to ignite. Additionally, our commercial systems are housed in fire-rated cabinets with built-in thermal monitoring and aerosol fire suppression units.
How many EV chargers can I install on my supply?
This depends on your available "headroom" (spare capacity). However, with Dynamic Load Balancing, we can often install 4x more chargers than a standard calculation would suggest. By sharing the available power intelligently across all vehicles, you ensure every van is charged by morning without ever exceeding your supply limit.
Future-proof your energy strategy!
Whether you need to electrify a fleet of 50 vans or store megawatts of solar power, let’s design a system that pays for itself.
