Proactive Maintenance & Compliance
A system is only compliant if it works when you need it. For Facilities Managers, a failed fire audit or a false alarm can mean costly downtime and reputational damage. Greentech Scotland provides tailored fire alarm maintenance contracts that keep you on the right side of the law.
The "Digital Logbook" Difference
Say goodbye to missing paper binders. We utilize cloud-based asset management software. Every test, service visit, and repair is logged digitally, giving you a real-time, audit-proof trail of compliance accessible from your desktop.
24/7 Emergency Call-Out
4-hour response time for critical system failures.
Annual Compliance Certification
We verify your systems meet BS 5839 standards.
PPM Schedules
Planned Preventative Maintenance to catch faults before they cause false alarms.
Engineered for Complex Environments
Standard solutions fail in specialized environments. We adapt our technology to suit the unique operational constraints of your sector.
Industrial & Warehousing
Standard smoke detectors don't work in 15m high logistics hubs. We utilize optical beam detection and air sampling systems (VESDA) to provide early warning without false alarms caused by forklifts or dust.
Education & Public Sector
Student safety is paramount. We install integrated lockdown systems and robust access control to manage flow, ensuring schools and universities remain secure but accessible.
Corporate Office Fit-Out
We work alongside architects and M&E consultants to deliver discreet, high-spec installations. From underfloor power track systems to aesthetic flush-mounted sensors, we ensure the tech doesn't compromise the design.

Frequently Asked Questions about Fire & Security
How often does my commercial fire alarm need servicing?
Under British Standard BS 5839, your fire alarm system must be inspected by a competent person at least every six months. However, for larger or high-risk premises, quarterly visits are often recommended. In addition to this, you must perform a weekly bell test. Greentech offers flexible maintenance contracts to manage this schedule for you.
What type of data cabling do I need for my office?
For most modern offices using VoIP phones and cloud-based software, Cat6 cabling is the standard, supporting speeds up to 10Gbps over short distances. For industrial sites with heavy machinery interference, or for linking two buildings together, we recommend Fibre Optic cabling due to its immunity to electrical interference and ability to carry data over long distances without signal loss.
Do you provide certification for insurance purposes?
Absolutely. As a BAFE SP203-1 accredited company, Greentech Scotland issues a BAFE Certificate of Conformity upon completion of the installation or maintenance visit. This is the gold standard of evidence required by insurers and Fire Officers to prove your system has been installed and maintained by a competent body.
Can you integrate our Access Control with the Fire Alarm?
Yes, this is a critical safety requirement. We integrate your Access Control system with the Fire Alarm panel so that in the event of a fire, specific doors automatically release (fail-safe) to allow rapid evacuation, while secure areas remain locked if safe to do so. This integration is tested during our commissioning phase.
What is the difference between L1 and L3 fire alarm systems?
These categories refer to the level of protection defined in BS 5839-1. An L1 system provides the highest standard, placing automatic detectors in all areas of the building (including voids and cupboards) to protect life. An L3 system is designed to protect escape routes and rooms opening onto them, ensuring occupants can leave safely. Most commercial insurance policies will specify which level of commercial fire alarm system you require. GreenTech can advise on the correct design for your building.
