Executive Summary

Executive Summary

GreenTech Scotland was appointed as the principal electrical contractor for Persimmon Homes' prestigious Forth Valley View development in Falkirk. This high-profile, multi-phase new build project required a highly reliable, scalable electrical installation across a diverse mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties. GreenTech deployed a dedicated team to ensure rigorous health, safety, and environmental standards were met at every stage, delivering the critical infrastructure needed to power a brand-new community.

As a Tier-1 commercial and industrial electrical partner, GreenTech Scotland brought rigorous engineering standards and process-driven project management to the residential sector for this major Persimmon Homes East Scotland development. Located centrally in Shieldhill, Falkirk, the Forth Valley View project was designed to attract a wide demographic, from first-time homeowners to growing families, requiring an electrical partner capable of delivering at significant scale. The project required complete end-to-end electrical design, containment, and installation for a high-volume housing estate. Operating within the strict, fast-paced timelines characteristic of a major national developer, our engineering teams successfully delivered compliant, safe, and highly efficient electrical infrastructure. Crucially, GreenTech’s commitment to flawless on-site safety and environmental controls directly supported the site management team in winning the highly coveted national Health, Safety and Environment Award at Persimmon Homes' annual UK awards ceremony.

The Solution: Value Engineering in Action

The Solution

High-volume residential developments often suffer from fragmented trades and logistical bottlenecks. To meet the aggressive build schedules of Persimmon Homes without compromising on quality, GreenTech Scotland applied our Tier-1 commercial project management methodology to the Forth Valley View site.

Instead of treating each housing plot as a standalone job, we approached the development as a unified infrastructure project. We deployed a dedicated, locally sourced team of NICEIC-approved engineers managed by a central site supervisor. By utilizing centralized procurement, bulk materials handling, and phased, standardized installations, we enabled multiple housing units to be wired, tested, and commissioned concurrently. This systematic approach meant our electrical teams could work seamlessly alongside plumbers, joiners, and groundworkers, ensuring that plot handover dates were consistently met and the overall development timeline remained completely on track.

Technical Implementation

Technical Implementation

The technical scope of work for Forth Valley View extended from the initial main DNO (Distribution Network Operator) intake connections down to the final circuitry and testing of each individual plot. Our engineers handled the complete installation of robust consumer units, ensuring all protective devices met the stringent requirements of the latest BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations.

A major focus of the technical implementation was life safety and compliance. We designed and installed hardwired, interlinked fire, smoke, and carbon monoxide detection systems in every property, ensuring total compliance with the updated Scottish Government legislation for domestic fire alarms. In addition, we installed energy-efficient LED lighting circuits throughout the homes to minimize baseline energy consumption for the new homeowners.

Furthermore, to align with increasing environmental demands and the Scottish Net Zero 2045 targets, specific plots within the Forth Valley View development were integrated with roof-mounted solar PV systems. Our renewable energy specialists ensured that all solar integrations were seamlessly connected, tested, and certified, providing new homeowners with immediate energy savings and reducing the overall carbon footprint of the new estate.

The Results

The Result

The Forth Valley View development was completed on schedule and is currently fully sold out, successfully establishing a vibrant new community in the heart of Scotland's commuter triangle. The estate now provides a diverse mix of safe, modern, and energy-efficient homes.

Most importantly, GreenTech Scotland’s flawless safety record and strict adherence to CDM 2015 regulations on site were instrumental in the project's broader success. The meticulous approach to maintaining high standards ensured that everyone on site returned home safely each day. This collaborative dedication to welfare and risk management culminated in the Forth Valley View development being crowned the winner of the national Health, Safety and Environment Award, beating competition from Persimmon developments across the entire UK.

This project stands as a definitive testament to GreenTech Scotland’s ability to execute high-volume residential contracts without ever compromising on Tier-1 commercial quality, statutory compliance, or life safety.
